Melbourne drunk punks Strawberry Fist Cake have announced significant line-up changes post their tour of North America last year. The band has been pretty quiet recently focusing on getting the newest members up to speed. On the way out is drummer Crazy and bass player Kenny, to be replaced by Jamie Watt (Mosey Jokers and 12FU) and Michael Vowles (The Cruntburgers). The new rhythm section comes with a shit ton of experience and were busy getting up to speed on old SFC songs and working on new material earlier this week at the Bakehouse Rehersal Studios.
Crazy’s last appearance with SFC will be at Poison Fish’s album launch for “Allergic to Milk” on the 11th February at the Brunswick Hotel. Michael will be commencing bass duties on the 4th February at a show for Last Chance Rock and Roll Bar’s birthday celebrations.
The fisters appear to have big plans for 2017 with hints about a new album in the works and a raft of show dates already announced.
Ragged Press’ Matt Gleeson will be hitting the road with Strawberry Fist Cake to document the band’s three date mini tour of New South Wales and Victoria in March, so stay tuned for the mayhem!
